What do I do After I get Saved

So, you got saved and now you're a Christian and Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior...
Congratulations! I don't say that in a minor sense, you are truly a walking miracle and there would have not been any way unless God had mercy on you or perhaps somebody was praying hard for you.

And you of course know this is true. Something supernatural happened and you will never be the same again. Things will never go back to where they were because God has adopted you into His Kingdom and your name has been written in heaven as a citizen and child of God.

This is something to rejoice and thank God for everyday. I'm rejoicing with you and thanking God as well for you.

God takes this very seriously and the Devil does too. He is aware you've been snatched out of his hands into the arms of Jesus...and he's very upset and will do anything to turn you back and away from God.

So this will take you being very pro active in the things of God. This is a whole new life.

You're starting over which means all the old things you used to do need to be replaced with the new.

Like partying, sleeping around, drugs and whatever lifestyle you were living that went against God.

The first thing you need to do is find a church to attend on Sundays.

Pray to God to lead you into the right church and make a decision that will be your home church to gain support there by other believers. Go every Sunday, Sunday after Sunday show up and be around other believers and here the Word of God being preached.

Second is the Word of God. Get a Bible and read it. Start in the Gospel of John and all you need to do is read a little chapter or read the whole book it's up to you just make sure you read the Bible because by reading your Faith in Jesus will stay strong.

Now here is where it gets interesting!

Now Going to Church and reading the Bible are good and very necessary but these two things alone are fine for some but for others like myself, well I needed more.

You see, I did a lot of things when I was serving the Devil. I had a full time job and my schedule was filled with activities,

Activities like clubbing every weekend for 10 years then I was heavily in the dating scene, I would party on a daily basis and watch movies, I was living a double life and lying to my boyfriend, I was cheating, addicted to astrology books, palm reading, numerology, Chinese astrology, going to psychics, visiting Buda temples, go to hotel parties, attend underground raves, car shows, worldly concerts, in the process of getting signed to a label as a rapper artist, rapped at house parties,...so I did a a lot.

So I needed to do a lot for Jesus because just going to church and reading my Bible were not going to be enough for me. For someone with a more calm personality and slow pace lifestyle maybe Church and Bible studies would work, but I can only speak for myself. I needed a full time schedule full of christian activities.

So this is what I did and hopefully it will encourage some of you new believers in Christ who came from that wild non stop active worldly lifestyle like I did.

First, I got plugged into church (I could not have done it without church) Church taught me the Word of God. and this was immediately orchestrated form the hand of God. and He used my mom to get me there. it was all devinly planned.

Then I signed up two weeks later to go into a mission trip to Mexico and I discovered I wanted to evangelize to the world.

I started serving in my church praying for people for seven years.

I created a ministry in my local community and got all this kids in my neighborhood to dance for Jesus.

I raised money along with my daughter and coordinated Christian festivals in my community for 3 years independently.

I wrote a book about my personal testimony and how Jesus saved me and published it in 2008.

I started creating for Jesus and registered myself in a college art class to paint for God.

I would connect with other ministries and evangelize to people in the street.

I would go to Christian conferences at least 10 times a year and receive importations from powerful Christians,

I would watch Christian television everyday and filled my music library with Worship music.

I joined the choir at my church.

So you get the idea.

So in other words you may not do some of the things I did like art and publish a book but do what you like to do to bring glory to Jesus, stay busy but always stay connected to His heart in the process. I did it because I fell in love with Jesus and I wanted to encourage others and tell others about what God did in my life and I did it through my gifts and talents.

Whatever you like to do, or whatever your skilled at, it could be motivational speaking, knitting, sports, cooking incorporate Jesus in there and be the light don't hide your light. for example if you like knitting, knit that will have Jesus name on it, if you like sports put John 3:16 on your cheek and be proud of the Gospel, if you like cooking cook for the homeless and preach the Gospel when you take the food whatever you do do it for Jesus and use every opportunity to tell others about what He did on the cross. If you do you stay hot, you stay on fire you keep the fires of going you want to stay hot for God you want to continue to always stir the gift. If you don;t you're going to fall into Luke warmness and that flame is eventually going to go out.

So pray and ask God what He want's you to do for Him.
